This website promotes the Tiwi Art Network which is an alliance between the three art centres on the Tiwi Islands: Munupi Arts & Crafts, Tiwi Design and Jilmara Arts & Craft.
The Network has developed its own products including a range of Tiwi jewellery and printed silk scarves. One of its main activities is facilitating Tiwi Art tours where art enthusiasts are flown to the islands to visit the three art centres and meet the artists. The network has a showroom and office in Darwin.

The Australian Museum has an international reputation in the fields of natural history and Indigenous research, community programs and exhibitions. The Museum was established in 1827 and is Australia's first museum, with unique and extensive collections of natural science and cultural artefacts. The Australian Museum is open every day of the year except December 25.
Musuem in a Box
Museum in a Box® is an exciting outreach program for schools and students in New South Wales. There are over twenty different boxes containing a treasure trove of real museum specimens, casts, artefacts, dioramas, photographs, video and audio tapes, games, books and computer software. The fun activities for children are explained in the Teachers' notes and information about the topic is given on large panels. Each box has a theme and the activities are linked to the school syllabus.
Individual boxes are currently available each school term for set loan periods of three weeks. Museum in a Box® can be sent to and collected from any school within New South Wales. The network consists of volunteers from diverse backgrounds, with a wide range of expertise and experience. The aim of the network is to bring together interested people and organisations in order to promote the paramount importance of integrating environmental education into all facets of young children’s lives in NSW. We support the teachers, carers and parents of young children by providing the resources and information necessary to facilitate meaningful environmental education into their daily experiences.
